Abstract: The conventional incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) is a collection of time history analyzes under ground motion records that are scaled to different intensity levels. This range is selected so that it can cover all structural behavior. Finally, the results are illustrated in one or more diagrams known as IDA curves. Based on recent studies, a few alternative methods have been proposed to gain the IDA curves. In this essay, the proposed methods are discussed and compared. Then the comparison and the advantages of different methods are discussed for a momentresisting frame (MRF) under a certain earthquake record.
