Abstract: This paper introduces a new method for calculating the maximum achievable bit horse power and jet impact force at all depths. In this method, the unknown theoretical constants are optimized using nonlinear multivariable optimization methods in order to achieve maximum hydraulic power and jet impact force after defining proper objective functions and linear and nonlinear constraints. The only data needed to implement this method are the drilling flow rate, pump pressure and physical properties of the bit. Bit hydraulic horse power and jet impact force are drown in the flow rate at all depths after optimization of the mentioned parameters. To validate the proposed approach, we have used field simulations with the use of hydraulic software. We have shown that there is a reasonable agreement between the result of the hydraulic simulation and the predicted from the proposed approach.
