Abstract: The objective of this article is to investigate the main stages of offshore oil / gas pipeline systems. To do the work, design steps are divided into three main categories including flow assurance, material selection and mechanical design. Then, the main data obtained from each section, such as internal diameter, wall thickness, material grade, maximum operating pressure / temperature were specified. In order to optimize and finalize the calculated parameters, the interaction between material selection and flow assurance sections with mechanical design section was considered. In this regard, special attention was given to pipeline mechanical design sub-sections such as wall thickness calculation, stability calculation, thermal expansion, free span and pipeline installation analysis as well as riser and spool stress analysis. In order to have a better view of design stages and relevant interactions, a case study was run for 18 cladded offshore pipeline systems located in the South Pars field1 phase and the results were verified
