Abstract: A highly efficient and one-pot synthesis of new types of pyrrolo / pyrido [1,2-a] [1,3] diazepines is described using a three-component reaction of a seven-membered ring HCO2, an activated methylene Compound, and either arylglyoxal monohydrates or salicylaldehyde under catalyst-free conditions in ethanol. A feature of the method is the simultaneous formation of pyrrolo / pyrido and diazepine rings in a reaction.
