Abstract: In this paper, the numerical solution of transient heat conduction in heattreatment of a railroad rail has been considered. The reduced basism method (RBM) has been applied to a separate resolved relatedparameterized PDE. The RBM will decompose the solution process into offline and online stages. In the offline stage, the problem definition andnumberical solution will be created on a reduced basis. The output ofinterest will be projected to the RB space. In the online stage, having calculated the value of input parameters and with a fairly small computational cost, the output of interest is calculated. Reliability and effectiveness of these methods is illustrated using a posteriori error estimation.
