Abstract: Orsi window is a result of a combination of wooden hand-crafts with color glazing and considered as an important element of Iranian indigenous and traditional architecture. In addition to beauty and psychosocial influence, it has a positive effect on room illumination. Light which supplies by Orsi is based on light obtained and transmitted by color glazing. Unfortunately, it has been neglected in current architecture. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the possibility of using Orsi windows usage in a current residential building. This case study first explains the general features of Orsi windows and then evaluated the amount of day light in 4 samples. Based on the results, it can be concluded that Orsi windows (with its considered features) can be used in living rooms and bedrooms of today's residential buildings
