Abstract: One of the important parameters considered as a typical characteristic for reconnaissance of granular soils is the internal friction angle. Nowadays, the advances and developments made in the in-situ tests of equipment such as standard penetration tests (SPT) have facilitated the determination of strength parameters in the site. On the other hand, the existing empirical correlations based on the logical arguments that are provided for the estimation of the internal friction angle of the soil and the standard penetration test, have resolved the problems of experts in the field of construction. Therefore, in this research, it has been tried to provide a proper correlation between the internal friction angle and corrected SPT blow count for sandstone soils of Babolsar based on the results of nearly 46 standard penetration tests and direct shear tests at the corresponding depths.
