Abstract: During an earthquake, significant damage can result due to the unstable nature of the soil in the area affected by internal seismic waves. Numerous pseudo-static methods are available for assessing the seismic stability of reinforced soil walls. These methods consider the dynamic effects of earthquake loading by adding a pseudo-static earthquake component to the static ground force force: and thus can not consider the effects of time or body waves traveling through the wall.
