Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present a practical procedure for generating hyperbolic shaped PY curves based on the results of a comprehensive analysis of sixteen full-scale horizontal loading loading tests in a variety of soil conditions (two sandy sites , 3 clayey sites and 1 silty site). Test piles were well instrumented and P-Y curves were derived from the interpretation of bending moment distribution along experimental piles. It was found that the ratio of the lateral reaction modules to the pressuremeter modulus and the ratio of lateral soil resistance to the pressuremeter's limit pressure were found varying as a power function of the lateral pile / soil dirt. The predictive capabilities of the proposed P-Y curves were evaluated by predicting soil / pile response in full-scale tests and found a very good agreement between computed deformations and measured ones.
