Abstract: In this paper, a cumulative sum (cusum) system is presented for quality control and monitoring of ready-mixed concrete plants. Two examples are presented to investigate the application of this method. In the first example, the production of ready-mixed concrete is simulated with data intentionally varied mean and standard deviations generated with normal distributions. These generated data, as a concrete compressive strength, are monitored with a pair of cumulative sums where the first is for detecting mean increases (SHi) and the second is for detecting mean decreases (SLi). In the second example, the data from a ready-mixed concrete is controlled by the cusum system. To simplify the control system, a transparent V-mask is designed and used to identify the small changes in the production system.
