Abstract: In this paper, the use of a flying capacitor multicell inverter in a series of active power filters for voltage quality improvement is proposed and simulation results are provided to remark its capabilities. The multicell inverter has advantages over a PWM inverter such as improved bandwidth, low switching pulse, and small dv / dt, so it is a good choice for sensitive loads. The series active power filter using a flying capacitor multicell inverter is used to compensate for voltage disturbances and voltage sag and swell. Simulation results using matlab / simulink are depicted and a comparison has been made to confirm the effectiveness of multicell configuration.
