Abstract: In this paper, for the purpose of system security assessments, we present a new security constraint based on the voltage stability and loadability limit (VSLL) of load buses. Following a line outage or load increase, the assessment of these security constraints allows us to have a more realistic assessment of the system security level. For evaluation of VSLL of load buses a simple and fast method based on the concept of Thevenin equivalent impedance is presented.
